The Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts General Fund supports the activities, programs and operations associated with the the College.The Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts is home of the Wonsook Kim School of Art, School of Music, School of Theatre and Dance, Arts Technology Program, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and University Galleries. Programs support students in all areas of study: music, theatre, and dance performance, composition, music therapy and music education, visual art and design, art history, and interactive media.
Illinois Shakespeare Society Endowment
The Illinois Shakespeare Society Endowment provides financial assistance for operating expenses associated with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. The Illinois Shakespeare Society Endowment was established in 2000 and funded through gifts from individuals interested in supporting the Illinois Shakespeare Festival and program.
Friends of the Arts Scholarship
It is the intent of the anonymous donor to benefit a student in fine arts with a scholarship. Qualifications: student must be a full time student at ISU; have a financial need; and be majoring in art, music, or theatre. Student should be a freshman or sophomore and could receive the scholarship for up to two years. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Friends of the Arts Scholarship was initially established by an anonymous donor in 1990 to benefit a student in fine arts with a scholarship. Qualifications: student must be a full time student at ISU; have a financial need; and be majoring in art, music, or theatre. Student should be a freshman or sophomore and could receive the scholarship for up to two years.

Normal Editions Workshop
The Normal Editions Workshop provides collaborative custom printing services for artists throughout the United States and extends the educational goals of the University. As a result, students have opportunities to work with and observe visiting artists who explore the creative and expressive potentials of printmaking. The purpose of this fund is to provide support for the activities of the Normal Editions Workshop and the projects it sponsors.
Graphic Design General Fund
The Graphic Design General Fund supports the activities, programs and operations associated with the Graphic Design Program in the Wonsook Kim School of Art.

The Illinois State University Bands Fund supports the activities, programs and operations associated with the School of Music Band program.
Grand-Puba-Tuba Low Brass Fund
Ed Livingston taught at ISU from 1968-1997 and served as director of bands from 1977-1984. Ed built the 90-member band into the 454-member Big Red Marching Machine, which held a record in the Guinness Book of World Records. Ed was honored during Homecoming 2007 for being the first director of the Big Red Marching Machine. Each candidate for an Erin Ann Livingston Tuba Scholarship and the Samantha Marie Livingston Euphonium Scholarship must be or have: accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at ISU; outstanding musical achievement, as evidenced by School of Music admission audition or through outstanding performance in studio and ensemble; music major or minor; enrolled in Tuba-Euphonium Studio; full-time student; and use the scholarship for educational expenses, tuition, and fees, housing, books, and classroom materials. Pete Guither Theatrical Experimentation Fund
The Pete Guither Theatrical Experimentation Fund was established in 2018 by Pete Guither. The scholarship provides support for research opportunities where students can participate in, or explore, student-led theatrical risk taking, which may involve any of a number of performance-based forms.
Dr. Lloyd W. Farlee Memorial Scholarship in the School of Music
Colleen Farlee established the Lloyd W. Farlee Memorial Scholarship in the School of Music in memory of her husband in July 2008. Each candidate for the Lloyd W. Farlee Memorial Scholarship in the School of Music must be or have a student that has been accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at ISU, planning to or majoring in the School of Music with an applied emphasis in voice and a major in either music education or music theater at ISU, and exhibit outstanding merit as a music student. The award is to be used for educational and/or housing expenses. Assets of this endowment are invested in the ISU Endowment Investment Pool. The Dr. Lloyd W. Farlee Memorial Scholarship was created with a purpose to award an ISU student in good standing who has exhibited outstanding merit in the School of Music and is majoring in either Music Education or Musical Theatre with an applied emphasis on voice. Preference will be given to a student who has exhibited outstanding merit in Men's Glee.
John Ferrell Endowed Scholarship for Madrigal Singers
This endowment was established in 2003 by John and Audrey Ferrell to recognize a talented member of the madrigal singers. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has been a respected member of the madrigals for at least one year, and demonstrated exceptional talent in vocal music and leadership among peers. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. John Stevens Memorial Fund
The John Stevens Memorial Fund was established by Nancy Stevens in 2003 in memory of John Stevens. John served on the Illinois Shakespeare Society Board of Directors from 1984 until his untimely death in 2000. John's commitment and passion to the Festival was unwavering. The John Stevens Memorial Fund was created to honor John and ensure future funding was available to help support future equity actors. The fund may also be used to cover costs related to the John Stevens Golf Outing, proceeds of which benefit the John Stevens Memorial Fund. The John Stevens Golf Outing began in 2001, with proceeds providing the seed money to fund an Equity actor beginning in the 2006 Festival season.

The origin of the name "Blackfriars" dates back to the 13th Century. They were bands of hooded monks who presented shows from portable stages. The name "Blackfriars" was adopted by the ISNU Chapter, Kappa Lambda, when it was founded in 1934. The purpose of this fraternity was to present annual, humorous stage productions of the highest possible type on campus. The members wrote, produced, performed in, and built scenery for these productions. The Blackfriar organization provided a social atmosphere before the fraternity system was established on campus until it disbanded circa 1964. The Blackfriar scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student with a major or minor in Theatre that has completed at least two semesters of coursework. The University Galleries Fund supports student scholarships for the Illinois State University Student Annual Exhibition, workshop supplies and transportation stipends for K-12 student field trips, artists' honoraria, and exhibition catalogues. The fund also serves as the base for scholarships and awards given to students with a particular interest in visual arts.

Linda Willis Fisher Scholarship Fund
This Linda Willis Fisher Restricted Scholarship was established in 2010 upon the retirement of Linda Willis Fisher, to celebrate her 22-year career as coordinator of the art education program at Illinois State University. An accomplished artist herself, Fisher mentored and inspired hundreds of students to go forward and become excellent art educators. The purpose of the fund is to recruit or retain exceptional students in art education. Scholarships will be no less than $500 or more than $1,000 per year. Candidates must have junior standing or above, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0, and be enrolled in the art teacher education program seeking certification. Preference will be given to those who exhibit leadership in the student chapter of the National Art Education Association.
Arts Technology Program Fund
The Arts Technology Program Fund provides support for the activities, programs and operations for the Arts Technology Program in the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts. The Program provide students with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of art, music, and theatre along with the theory and practice of digital and interactive media. Students work with artists, designers, and musicians who are experts in the latest technology and practices in their field. The program provides a broad and flexible curriculum designed to keep students current with industry trends and developments.
James Major and Amy Gilreath Music Scholarship
This fund was established in 2007 by Amy Gilreath, an accomplished and internationally recognized trumpet performer and professor of music at Illinois State University, and James Major, Dean of the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, who has had a distinguished career in music and music education spanning four decades. Each candidate must be accepted or enrolled at Illinois State, be engaged as a student in trumpet as a declared music major or by having indicated an intention to declare a major in music, and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
School of Music General Fund
The School of Music General Fund supports many activities, programs, and operations associated within the School of Music program, including supporting student initiatives, guest clinicians, and faculty professional development; obtaining specialized instruments and equipment; and providing additional student scholarships.

Friends of the Arts Fund
Need Purpose Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Friends of the Arts fund was established in June 2002. The purpose of the fund is to provide student scholarships and general support for programs and priorities of the College. The Friends of the Arts group consist of alumni and friends of the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts whose primary goal is the help promote Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts programs, foster an appreciation of the fine arts, and raise funds for special projects.
Illinois State University Bands Scholarship
The Illinois State University Bands Scholarship was established in 2019. The scholarship supports students who are majoring in music, enrolled in applied lessons on scholarship instruments(s), and perform in up to two ensembles, including a band on their primary instrument.
Patty Foltz Memorial Fund
The Patty Foltz Memorial Fund was established as a student support fund that will help cover incidental expenses related to performances or recitals not otherwise covered by tuition and required as part of course or degree completion requirements.

Charles Stokes Music Scholarship
In 2018, Professor Emeritus Charles Stokes established a scholarship to provided financial assistance for students with demonstrated musical ability and achievement. A trombonist and jazz pianist, Professor Stokes was recognized by his peers and students for outstanding teaching in the areas of theory and musicianship. Awarded to a student (undergraduate or graduate) that has been accepted for enrollment or is enrolled in good standing in the School of Music. The scholarship will be a renewable annual award. The Charles Stokes Music Scholarship was established in 2017 by emerita faculty Charles Stokes. Charlie was a beloved faculty member who taught in the School of Music for more than 30 years. He was highly respected by faculty and students as a musician and teacher. The purpose of the scholarship is to help support a student in the School of Music at Illinois State University.
Bernard Eichen Scholarship
This endowment was established in 1992 by family, friends, and colleagues in memory of violin professor Bernard Eichen. The scholarship is awarded to “the most promising” violin student. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Caroline Gordon Theatre Scholarship
*** Needs purpose The Caroline Gordon Theatre Scholarship was established through a bequest of Caroline Gorden. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Caroline Gordon Theatre Scholarship was established through a bequest of Caroline Gordon in 2004. The scholarship provides scholarship support for students majoring in theatre at Illinois State University. Ms. Gordon was a retired Illinois State staff member who passed away January 2004.
Mary M. Packwood Art Education Fund
The Mary M. Packwood Art Education Endowment Fund was established by Mary Packwood in 1985. Ms. Packwood believed art instruction was an integral part of the academic program and wanted to ensure art curriculum and instruction remained supported. In 2016, the funding guidelines were updated to specify that the fund supported Art Education students, faculty, and programs in the Wonsook Kim School of Art at Illinois State University
Jean Scharfenberg Scholarship
This endowment was established in 1993 by family, friends, and colleagues of Jean Scharfenberg. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating student, either a senior or M.F.A. candidate, majoring in acting. Candidates must demonstrate talent, discipline, and good work habits, attitude, performance work, and scholarship. Funds are to be used to defray costs involved in beginning a professional acting career. This endowment was established in 1993 by family, friends, and colleagues of Jean Scharfenberg. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating student majoring in acting. Candidates must demonstrate talent, discipline, and good work habits, attitude, performance work, and scholarship. This endowment was established in 1982 in honor of Stephanie Amster’s long time efforts to develop the Ewing Arts Festival. This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in art and exemplifying the “best” through leadership, academic proficiency, artistic talent, and a commitment to excellence in art. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Stephanie Amster Design Fund endowment was established in 1982 in honor of Stephanie Amster's long time efforts to develop the Ewing Arts Festival. This endowment was established in 1970 by Velma Pitcher-Sorensen, M.S.E. 1974. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in the field of art. The Marshall Dulaney Pitcher Scholarship Award was established in 1970 by Velma Pitcher-Sorensen, M.S.E '74. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in the field of art.
Josefina Gutiérrez Ferrán Scholarship
Josefina Gutiérrez Ferrán was an adult learner in the Illinois State University Art Department for 16 years. Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Josefina had a passion for life, education, music, and painting. Her artwork reproduced vivid memories of her homeland. Fleeing communism and in search of a better life, and to be closer to her children who preceded her in leaving Cuba, Josefina eventually settled in Central Illinois. She passed away in 2000. The Josefina Gutiérrez Ferrán Scholarship for Latino Art Students was established in 2001 by her daughter, Dr. Ana Maria F. Parent, a former faculty member at Illinois State University.
Denny Mays Scholarship
The Denny Mays Scholarship was established with gifts from family and friends made in memory of Mr. Mays following his passing in 2011. Mr. Mays started his career at Illinois State University in 1969 and retired in 2009 from as the School of Theatre and Dance Scene Shop Foreman. The Denny Mays scholarship will be given annually to a deserving Theatre student with demonstrated financial need who is significantly involved in building scenery or props for School of Theatre Productions. The student recipient must exhibit Denny's values of hard work, respect, and a passion for a job well done. Selection will be made by the School of Theatre and Dance.
Colleen Tovar Memorial Stage Management Scholarship
One word to describe Colleen Tovar was "fierce." In a professional career that spanned over 35 years, she served as a technician, stagehand, actor, designer, Managing Director, and Producer. However, it was in Stage Management and Production Management where she found her passion. In 2015, Colleen shifted her focus to higher education, becoming the Production Manager and Stage Management instructor in the Department of Theater and Dance at Ball State University. In the fall of 2020, Colleen accepted a position at Illinois State University as the Production Manager and Stage Management instructor in the School of Theatre and Dance, along with being the Production Manager of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. In July of 2021, Colleen was diagnosed with cancer and was taken from us too soon on November 7, 2022. The plan for this scholarship is to assist a graduating senior with these funds can be used to help start their professional career as a Stage Manager.
Gregory W. Slawko Memorial Scholarship
The Gregory W. Slawko Memorial Scholarship was established by his sister Kyle Scanlon to honor Greg's passion for the theatre. Greg loved all aspects of the theatre from acting, singing, dancing, and writing plays to costume design. He was fortunate in that he was able to have a career that he truly loved design. Throughout his career and the country, Greg brought color to the stage and to life with his detailed and extraordinary designs. During his tenure teaching, he enjoyed aiding students to further develop their talent. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor Greg's memory by awarding the scholarship to an individual who shares Greg's love of the theatre and design.
Kari Beth Rust Costume Design and Technology Scholarship
The Kari Beth Rust Costume Design and Technology Scholarship was established to honor her extensive influence on the costume program in the School of Theatre and Dance, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and the Chicago creative community. Kari Beth learned how to sew from her mother, Betty, but her passion for costuming was ignited by Mike and Gayle Dobbins. An ISU alum, she came to ISU professionally in 1995 where she met her future husband, Rob Fulton, who is also a graduate of the program. A strong advocate for students, incredibly organized, diligent and an expert in her craft, Kari Beth taught thousands of students how to sew. Her motto was "Every sleeve is a hat, but not every hat is a sleeve." Her humor and insight propelled students to always do their best under very stressful circumstances.
Ginger Scott-Erlinder Endowed Scholarship
The Ginger Scott-Erlinder Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to upperclassmen who are studying in specific areas in the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts.
Dr. Alvin (Al) Goldfarb Student Theatre Fund
The Dr. Alvin (Al) Goldfarb Student Theatre Fund was established in 2017 by Dr. Goldfarb to help pay for/offset the cost of theatre tickets and travel expenses for students in the School of Theatre and Dance to attend high qualify live theatre performances and productions regionally, nationally, and internationally. Funds are exclusively for students who are theatre majors.

The purpose of this fund is to support the Illinois Shakespeare Festival managed by the College of Fine Arts at Illinois State University, to support the recruitment and hiring of guest artists, to enhance and expand the festival's influence, and to provide ongoing annual support. This fund was established by Jay and Sue Edmondson, who both grew up in southern California and graduated from the University of California-Berkeley. They have made their home in the Bloomington-Normal community for over 40 years, however, and have been friends of Illinois State for many of those years. Jay retired from State Farm as vice president of underwriting and service. They have both served on boards for many local nonprofit organizations, including ISU Friends of the Arts, Illinois Symphony Orchestra, and United Way. Jay is an emeritus advisor to the Katie Insurance School. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The purpose of this fund is to support the Illinois Shakespeare Festival managed by the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts at Illinois State University, to support the recruitment and hiring of guest artists, to enhance and expand the festival's influence, and to provide ongoing annual support. This endowment fund was established through a gift by Harold and Marlene Gregor. Harold is an Illinois State University distinguished professor emeritus, and Marlene received her master's degree from the University. The purpose of this fund is to provide transportation and admission fees for students in the school of art to visit museums and galleries. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Harold and Marlene Gregor Endowment was established through a gift by Harold and Marlene Gregor. Harold is an Illinois State University distinguished professor emeritus, and Marlene received her master's degree from the University. The purpose of this fund is to provide transportation and admission fees for students in the Wonsook Kim School of Art to visit museums and galleries.
Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts Strategic Initiatives Endowment
The Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts Strategic Initiatives Endowment will be funded beginning in 2020 with an initial gift of $500,0000 and additional gifts in 2021 through 2025 and $1 million annual gifts in 2026 through 2028. The Endowment will provide funds for College-wide priorities as determined by the Dean of the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts. Expenses include, but are not limited to, scholarships, faculty and student research, equipment, domestic and international travel, exhibitions, artist residencies, lectures, working at archaeological and conservation sites, concerts, multimedia presentations, theatre and dance productions, University Galleries programming, faculty and student awards.
Eggan Family ISF Youth Programs Fund
This fund was established to honor the Eggan Family's longtime involvement and support of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival at Illinois State University, and Larry's many years of faithful service as an ISF Board Member. The fund will support productions and educational outreach initiatives directed towards young audiences, promoting active engagement with the works of William Shakespeare.
University Galleries Exhibition Program Endowment
The University Galleries Exhibition Program Endowment was established in December 2014 by Dr. James E. Major and Dr. Amy Gilreath Major. The Galleries regularly exhibit and promote art by ISU faculty, students, and alumni. The purpose of the fund is to supplement catalogue printing and design, installation materials, documentation of art, and educational programming.

Keith and Becky Habersberger Scholarship
The Keith and Becky Habersberger Scholarship was established in 2020 to support and promote a Theatre student with a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The scholarship will provide financial assistance for a theatre major in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need. Student must be an active member of the Crossroads Project Committee or one of the following Registered Student Organizations: FreeStage, Improve Mafia, Theatre of Ted, Black Actors League, or the Latin American Theatre Association.
Barbara (Schonert) Benway Endowed Scholarship in Art Education
Barbara received her bachelor's degree in art education from Illinois State University in 1950. It is here that she met her future husband. She felt that the education she received here was excellent and remembers her professors as caring individuals. They expanded her horizons further than she ever thought possible. After graduation she became an art teacher and taught in Downers Grove and Elmhurst during her 37 years as an art instructor. She retired in 1987. Though she and her husband never had any children, they felt it was important to put their money toward something that would help young people to reach their goals in a university that gave her and her husband so much. The purpose of this scholarship is to give art students assistance with their educational expenses.
Edwards-Moore SOTD Scholarship
The Dorothy L. Edwards-Moore School of Theatre, Dance and Film Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dorothy L. Edwards-Moore. A fervent champion for the arts, Ms. Edwards-Moore had an unwavering devotion to acting and drama. Following her graduation from high school, she earned a full scholarship to Illinois State University, majoring in speech and drama. This experience ignited her lifelong love of acting. During this time, she appeared in dozens of plays, including classics such as “Antigone”, “The Man Who Came to Dinner”, and the lead role of Peg in “Peg o’ My Heart” for which she received rave reviews. When she moved to Louisville, Kentucky to be close to her family, she continued to act, appearing as Abigail in “The Crucible” and performing at the legendary Pioneer Playhouse in Danville. Later, Ms. Edwards-Moore appeared in the films “Towering Inferno”, “Patch Adams”, and “The Poseidon Adventure”. Through the years, she continued to “broaden her horizons”, living in New York City, Los Angeles, Louisville, San Francisco, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she worked in the University’s English Department, forming relationships with the educators and local literary community. With each new chapter of her life, Dorothy remained vivacious, witty, and nurturing. She was a passionate advocate of literature and was the source of inspiration for countless family members and friends. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support for an acting student who demonstrates potential to expand personal development and professional growth coupled with zeal for the arts.
